Outstanding Nursery Inspection!

Outstanding Nursery Inspection!

Dear Parent / Carer,

Congratulations to all staff and learners at Clober Early Years Centre on the wonderful inspection report that has just been published today. The Centre was inspected in December 2015. The Inspectorate spoke with parents, read submitted parent questionnaires and worked closely with staff and learners in order to develop a true understanding of our ethos and practice.

Newletter

The Newsletter for November and December has been uploaded to the website and has also been sent to all parents electronically. Please take a look at the IMPORTANT DATES section as this gives information relating to Christmas and January 2016. Please note that our Christmas Service venue had been changed to Clober due to flooding at St.Luke's. Due to numbers we will not be able to have parents at this event. Mr Shields is hoping this is rectified for the Easter Service.

School October Week

The Primary School will be closed from Friday 9th October (Iclusive) and will reopen to pupils on Monday 19th October 2015. 

Please note the Nursery will be open during this period to extended day and year children. They will only be closed on Friday 9th October. Please remember that when the school is on holiday all telephone communication should be directed to the Nursery on 0141 955 2233.

Clober turns 50!!

Clober turns 50!!

50th Celebrations for Clober Primary School are well under way - many events for pupils, parents and staff are planned and we would like to invite the general pupil to our OPEN EVENING on Thursday 10th September 2015. 

If you have a connection with Clober Primary School in any way you are most welcome to take a tour around the school and get the chance to look at photos on display from 1965 when we first opened our doors. Primary 7 pupils will be on hand with refreshments and will be acting as tour guides for the evening.

Dear Parents, 

We are now closed for the session and will reopen on Monday 17th August 2015. The Primary pupils should enter at 9am with P1 making their way to the gym hall for their first day at 10am. Parents are welcome to come and take photos in the playground from 9.30am.

Parent Meetings and Easter

Parent Meetings and Easter

Dear Parents, 

We have reached the time of year for Parent Evenings and soon after that it will be the Easter Holidays. 

The Parents' Evening will be held on Tuesday 24th March from 3.30pm to 8.30pm and a letter will be issued shortly regarding your appointment times. 

Our Easter holidays begin on good Friday 3rd April. Pupils of the nursery and Primary will return on Monday 20th April 2015.

Thomas Muir Festival

The Thomas Muir Art Festival is taking place across East Dunbartonshire from 13th to 24th November. Now in its forth year, the festival is working with over 40 local community groups and businesses to deliver a unique community festival for all the family. 

Music, concerts, folk music, art, walks, canal cruises, stain glass workshops, theatre, panto, art making, kids actvities, local history walks, partcipation events and much more. Please come along - we are looking forward to seeing you!

Harvest

Harvest

This year the children of Clober Primary and Nursery are supporting Glasgow City Mission as part of our Harvest thanksgiving. 

We would welcome any of the following items: 

Lentils, Called food, Cereal, Dried Fruit.

Please see the letter which will be issued in your child's bag today. Glasgow City Mission provide soup kitchens to the homeless people  of Glasgow. Your donations will go a long way to support this charity.

Appointments are given to all parents who have children within the Clober catchment.

PRIMARY 1 ENROLMENT

Enrolment for Primary 1 will take place on the second week back after the holidays. I am really looking forward to meeting you and enroling your child at Clober Primary School.

Appointments are available from Monday 13th January to Friday 17th January 2014.

If you are in Clober catchment area, please contact the school for an enrolment appointment. If you would like to place your child into Clober you must enrol at your catchment area school and inform them of this decision there.

Leavers' Farewell PTA Disco

"Fun, Family Fundraising" 

It‘s hard to believe it is only three weeks until the end of term and time for our Leavers' disco.


 

It will be held on Friday 22nd June

P1-P3 7-8pm andP4-P7 8.15-9.30pm.


 

Primary 7 are also invited to join us in the school canteen from 7-8pm for a little celebration of their time at Clober Primary.


 

Tickets cost £2 and will be on sale on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd June from 8.45 - 9.00am, P1-3 at P1a entrance and P4-P7 at their entrance.

HMIe Follow Through Inspection

HMIe Follow Through Inspection

I am really delighted to upload a copy of the HMIe Follow Through report. The inspection took place in early February and was a great success. This was due to the wonderful effort of the children and staff. I cannot thank them enough for working so hard and being such a great team!

Katrine Water Project

Katrine Water Project

Over the last four years Clober Primary has been working closely with the Katrine Water Project on a partnership basis during the building of the new water treatment works in Milngavie. After all the children's hard work during their time at Clober they were invited to give a presentation to HRH Queen Elizabeth II, the Duke of Edinburgh, MSPs, council members and other dignitaries.

A staggering £255.01 was raised through the cake sale organised by Primary 3. This money will be sent to Samaritans Purse who will make sure it goes to the people and places in Haiti in most need.
