Clober Primary's Fairtrade Event

Clober Primary's Fairtrade Event

At Clober, we pride ourselves in our commitment to Fairtrade...

...and last Friday the Committee invited parents and friends to a very special Fairtrade Event.

Head Teacher, Mr Bremner welcomed everyone and hoped they would enjoy
and appreciate the hard work that pupils had put into this special Assembly.

We began with a video, 'Foncho Fairtrade Banana' which explained the benefits

that farmers and workers receive, from customers buying Fairtrade Bananas.

This was followed with a super Rainforest/Fairtrade presentation together with
pieces of drama and the promotion of fantastic recipe books, compiled in class, to sell on the day.

There was an informative contribution from guest speaker, Julianne who gave an update
on the Rice Challenge and thanked those who now buy Fairtrade rice.

It was evident how much work had been done for this special event as
the CCC Group gave a well-informed talk on 'Links with Rights Respecting Schools'.

It had been an excellent event for all involved and was rounded off with
two of Fairtrade's younger members drawing the lucky raffle ticket!

Mr Bremner praised everyone involved in putting together such an interesting, well-informed,
entertaining Fairtrade Event.  He said it reflected the excellent work
they have been doing throughout the year...

... and all that remained was for parents and friends to explore the
various stations around the hall, visit the Fairtrade counters
and enjoy another cup of delicious Fairtrade tea or coffee!

Our Fairtrade Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank local businesses
Farmfoods, Lidl, the Co-op and the Coach House for supporting our event.
