Curriculum Evening 2017

Curriculum Evening 2017

Every year we have a Curriculum Evening for parents to come along and learn more about the nursery and the learning experiences that we offer to the children.

The parents attended workshops for emotional and social development looking at safety topics and our Promoting Alternative Thinking skills program.

The parents were shown our e-journal system which records the children's experiences and developments in nursery.  A demonstration of Makaton was given and also a talk which covered Triple P, GIRFEC (Getting It Right For Every Child) and care plans.

The parents learnt about home link learning with Credit union, Curriculum travelling Teds, Toy libraries and story sacks and a practical experience of the activity marketplace.

The parents listened to how we plan children’s experiences through a presentation for pre-birth to 3 and curriculum for excellence.

This was followed with an introduction to Primary 1 presented by the acting Depute Head teacher and the nursery teacher.

Feedback from some of the parents who attended the evening can be found here.
