Harvest Celebration 2014

Harvest Celebration 2014

Just before our October break, we welcomed Mr McLeod,
from St Luke's Church, to join us for our special 'Harvest Celebration Assembly'.

Pupils delivered various Bible Readings and Harvest prayers throughout our Assembly.

We have many talented musicians here at Clober and enjoyed our cello player's super rendition of 'Harvest Time'.

Mr McLeod then gave a talk on the role of the Glasgow City Mission, which provides very welcomed
soup kitchens to the homeless people of Glasgow. He congratulated the school
on the amazing amount of donations of lentils, cereal, canned food, dried fruit etc..

...which will be much appreciated by this worthwhile charity.

A lot of work had gone into Primary 3's contribution to our Harvest Assembly
with poems, prayer and a very entertaining song 'Conkers'!

We ended with lots of fantastic singing!

Mr Bremner thanked Mr McLeod and everyone in Clober Primary...

... for making our 'Harvest Celebration 2014' such success!

Following our fantastic efforts Reverend Shields and Mr McLeod from St Luke's

and Mr Steven, who works at the Glasgow City Mission, came to school to give an insight
as to how our donations would make a significant difference to those less fortunate than ourselves.

Mr Steven explained that 'Harvest' was important to farmers who worked very hard
to bring in their crops at this time and...

...compared the value in helping others to that of  'The Good Samaritan'.

Finally, Primary 7 pupils helped load up our donations to be taken back to the Glasgow City Mission
and Mr Steven once again thanked Clober Primary School for their wonderful generosity.
