As part of our ‘People who help us’ topic work, Primary 2a have been very busy learning how to write letters and reports. The children wrote letters to Milngavie Fire Station prior to their visit, asking the fire station questions, and telling them that they were looking forward to visiting. After the visit, the children wrote reports about the visit explaining what they loved about their time at the Fire Station.

After we had a visit from a police officer, we wrote letters to him to thank him for coming to visit Clober Primary. The children were learning about the structure of a letter, and wrote about the aspect of the visit that they enjoyed the most.

The children also wrote a book review during World Book Week which they really enjoyed. The book was called ‘Monty Must be Magic!’ by Colin West. The children learned about what is included within a book review such as the title, author and a rating of the story. The children also learned how to write a summary about the plot of the story.
