RSPB Visit - Primary 3b

RSPB Visit

On Friday 26th January Primary 3b were lucky enough to receive a visit from the RSPB.  We learned that all animals need food, water and homes.  We learned about the different types of homes that wildlife may live in such as trees, hedges and log piles.  We learned that the RSPB try to help wildlife by creating homes for animals and mini beasts to live in.

We discovered that bees collect nectar from flowers. To make sure that bees have enough food we could plant flowers in our playground.  We could make more bird feeders to provide food.  These should be placed in a safe and quiet environment.  Woodlice and other mini beasts love dark places and like to eat decaying leaves so we could make a mini beast hotel from wood and leaves.

We had great fun exploring our playground to find habitats that would be good homes for wildlife.
