Sciences - Living and Non-Living Things

This term the children will be looking at the Sciences topic, ‘Living and Non-living Things’. So far we have been classifying animals, plants, and other everyday objects into living and non-living things. As a class, we have found out that living things need to; breathe, grow, eat, drink, move, and reproduce. This has helped us to sort everything into groups. In the pictures below, you can see the children working on sorting pictures into the two groups, based on the above criteria!

Our overall learning objective, as outlined in the curriculum, is as follows:

“I can distinguish between living and non living things. I can sort living things into groups and explain my decisions”
