Welcome to Primary 3

Mrs Glennie and Mrs Chapman would like to welcome all the children into Primary 3. We hope that this will be a great year for all pupils and look forward to working with them over this session. We have many fun lessons planned and hope that the children will benefit from a variety of learning and teaching styles.

Although we have materials in class, it would be most useful for your child to bring to school a pencil case with at least 2 sharpened pencils, some colouring pencils and a rubber. A glue stick would also be useful.

Homework will generally be issued on a daily basis this year. Spelling and Phonics will be given each night with a spelling test normally conducted on a Friday. Reading, Number and/or Topic homework will also be issued throughout the course of the week, dependent on our programme of study. If for any reason your child cannot complete their homework on a given night, they will have the opportunity to complete it the following night. Please encourage your child to find somewhere quiet to do their homework and have a clear surface to work from. Clean hands would also be a bonus!!!

Our P.E. days are Wednesdays  and Thursdays. We would be most grateful if all items of your child’s uniform could be clearly named to ensure that children have their own clothing on and to prevent any items of uniform going missing or unclaimed from lost property. We would also appreciate any additional clothing, for example, hats, scarves, gloves etc., to be labelled also.

We are very much looking forward to working with your child and hope that they will have a fruitful, hardworking and enjoyable year.
