Welcome to Primary 3b

Mrs Glennie and Mrs Chapman would like to welcome all the children into Primary 3. We hope that this will be a great year for all pupils and look forward to working with them over this session. We have many fun lessons planned and hope that the children will benefit from a variety of learning and teaching styles.

Although we have materials in class, it would be most useful for your child to bring to school a pencil case with at least 2 sharpened pencils, some colouring pencils and a rubber. A glue stick would also be useful.

Homework will be issued on a weekly basis this year and will consist of reading, phonics, spelling and numeracy, issued on a Monday. Homework should be completed no later than Friday, although can be submitted earlier in the week. Learners will be given up to 12 words each week and have to complete 2 spelling activities and 1 maths activity from the grids in their jotters. Please ensure the heading of the chosen activity is written in your child’s jotter with the date this activity was completed. Children should always have their homework jotter in their bags as they will need these to refer to their spelling words during active spelling activities.

Our P.E. days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We would be most grateful if all items of your child’s uniform could be clearly named to ensure that children have their own clothing on and to prevent any items of uniform going missing or unclaimed from lost property. We would also appreciate any additional clothing, for example, hats, scarves, gloves etc., to be labelled also.

We are very much looking forward to working with your child and hope that they will have a fruitful, hardworking and enjoyable year.
