World War 2 Day Trip

World War 2 Day Trip

On Thursday 1st October, Primary 6 were out on a class trip to explore two fantastic museums as part of their World War 2 topic.

Firstly, the children visited The People’s Palace.  There, they took part in a World War 2 Trail.  Working in groups, the children explored displays based on The Home Front and completed a quiz sheet.

Later on, the children participated in an interactive session where they handled objects from World War 2 and discovered the challenges the people in Glasgow faced at that time e.g. rationing and air raids.

After lunch, the children took part in a World War 2 classroom re-enactment.  The class dressed in WW2 style uniforms, met a very strict teacher called Miss James and experienced lessons from this period.

We had an information-packed day and some experiences that we will never forget!

I wonder what classroom the children prefer?  WW2 or 2015?
