WORLD OF WORK WEEK VISITOR - MRS MURRAY NSPCC

As Primary 4/5 and Primary 5 are working together to organise 'Children In Need' for the 13th of November we were interested in speaking to someone who actually worked in a charity.  Mrs Murray visited our classes to talk to us about her work with the NSPCC.  She organises events for the NSPCC charity to raise money so they can help lots of children.  Before Mrs Murray worked for them she worked for Diabeties UK and Age concern.

Mrs Murray spoke to us about the different types of charities as well as telling us that all the charities for children talk to each other to ensure they are not duplicating efforts.  The NSPCC holds 6 main events throughout the year, details of these can be obtained from the charity, as well as the events that the general public do to support the NSPCC.  Events such as a kilt walk, wear a bobble hat, ice bucket challenge, bath in beans or custard and sponsored walks or runs.

We learned so much about the amazing work that charities do.  It has inspired us to continue to help charities as much as possible in the future.  Thank you so much to Mrs Murray for giving up her time to give us so much important information, we really enjoyed her visit.  We loved the badges and stickers she gave us too!
