We received our first Eco Schools Green Flag in June 2022. The children and staff worked hard to gain the flag. They created an eco-committee including children and staff to discuss what they would do to make the centre eco-friendlier. The children took part in many different aspects of this by growing fruit and vegetables which they then later ate and then removed the seeds for the following year. Also re-using old wood to create items at the woodwork bench for the garden such as bird feeders and planters. We recycle plastic and cardboard within the centre. The children also took part in litter picking in the grounds of the centre and school to ensure the area round us was clean and tidy. The children and staff turned the lights off every day to save energy within the centre. We are continuing all of this hard work. Our new topic focus is water for the next Green Flag.
