We recently received our Bronze Rights Respecting School award. The staff have worked hard to ensure children are aware of their rights within the centre and have knowledge and understanding of what their rights are. Within the centre we have a rights committee that includes children from both the 2-3 room and the 3-5 room to ensure the children’s voice in supporting their rights to be promoted in all aspects of the centre. The children are beginning to identify how the centre supports their rights and that their individual opinions matter on how their rights are being met. For example, being able to identify how they are being kept safe and also how to keep each other safe; Article 36. In collaboration with the community, staff, children and their families, we are continuing to work towards our Silver Award.
